Food Wave

"Food Wave - Empowering urban youth for climate action" is a project co-funded by the EU and promoted by the Municipality of Milan together with 29 partners across 17 countries.

The answer to climate change lies in our food choices because every single action can make a difference. This is the idea that united our network and pointed us towards the future: spreading awareness on the issue, studying new sustainable solutions and sharing good practices.

The Food Wave consortium involves 16 cities and municipal agencies plus 13 civil society organizations closely linked with the cities. Among the institutional stakeholders, we can find C40, the Italian Ministry for the Environment, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) Action Campaign, ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability.

In the past four years, we trained more than 700 activists, opened three international sub-granting calls, organized 22 discussion fora and 60 street actions and performance art events, worked with more than 2000 underprivileged youth and much more.
